Qualifications : Minimum Qualification - Certificate 111 in children’s Services.

Demonstrated knowledge :

Of child development.
In programming and planning for individual children.
Of appropriate hygiene procedures.
Of nutritional needs of children.
Of appropriate First Aid and safety procedures.
Understanding of Education and Care Services National Regulations and Laws.
National Quality Standards and National Early Years Learning and Development Frameworks(EYLF)

Demonstrated ability to :

Work alone, prioritise and manage own time.
communicate respectfully and build positive relationships with children, parents and co-ordination unit staff .
Understand and respond to children’s needs respectfully and positively.
Balance personal and family needs whilst caring for Family Day Care children.
Understand and accept the diverse needs of families and be non-judgmental.
Demonstrate behavior consistent with community standards, and recognize the need for, and participate in ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.

Meet all key selection criteria as listed in this position description.
Be Over 18 years of age.
Clear National Police certificate of applicant and all other residents in the home over the age of 18 years (3 yearly).
Valid Working with Children Check Clearance Number of applicants and for all residents over the age of 18 (3 yearly) .
Meet Home Safety Check requirements (Monthly).
Pass Medical Assessment (yearly).
Reference checks by two professional people (not family or friends).
PRODA Number – Provider Digital Access.

Australian Business Number (ABN) to be obtained prior to commencement.
Maintained public liability insurance coverage up to $10m(Annually).
Apply First Aid Certificate (Level 2)– on commencement (3 yearly).
“Perform Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation” certificate – on commencement (Annually) .
Emergency Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management certificate (3 yearly).
Participation in ongoing professional development.
Annual vehicle and restraint check (where relevant).
